Daoist Contemplative Winter Retreat
Join us for our remote 5-day Daoist Contemplative Winter Retreat 道教冬季冥想靜修. We will focus on tradition-based Daoist contemplative practice, including an exploration of various forms of Daoist meditation. We will examine the associated history, literature, and philosophy through a Daoist study-practice approach. The retreat is scheduled from Monday, January 6 to Friday, January 10 from 10am-4pm CST (16:00-22:00 UTC) each day. We will observe the following Daoist “New Monastic” schedule:
10:00-11:00am: Daoist Standing Meditation
11:00am-12:00pm: Daoist Lùndào 論道 Talk
12:00-1:00pm: Meal Break, Rest, Walking, Personal Practice
1:00-2:00pm: Daoist Scripture Study 經學 (Texts TBA)
2:00-3:00pm: Open Conversation and Group Spiritual Direction
3:00-4:00pm: Daoist Seated Meditation & Self-Massage
No prior experience necessary. All are welcome.
