Daoist Studies Summer Seminar
Join us for our annual remote 5-day intensive Daoist Studies Summer Seminar 道學沙龍 (DSSS), with a specific focus on critical issues in Daoist Studies. This is the flagship event of the Center for Daoist Studies 道學中心. The seminar is scheduled from Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 10am-4pm CDT each day. In this seminar, Dr. Komjathy will share his expertise as a leading Daoist scholar-practitioner and translator of Daoist literature, including his nearly 20-year reflection on Western engagements with Daoism. Utilizing a Daoist study-practice approach (SPA), we will explore issues related to Daoist embodiment, globalization, hermeneutics, identity, lineage, tradition, and translation. No prior experience, including knowledge of classical Chinese, is necessary. All are welcome.
