Jìngzuò 靜坐 (Quiet Sitting) Daoist Meditation on Winter Begins
Join us for a remote Daoist practice session focusing on Quiet Sitting (jìngzuò 靜坐), also known as "tranquil sitting." Each 1.5 hour meeting begins with an opening meditation period, focusing on Daoist quiet sitting (“empty sitting”) with formal instruction. This is followed by a discussion of informing views, including the connection to fasting the heart-mind (xīnzhāi 心齋), guarding the One (shǒuyī 守一), and sitting-in-forgetfulness (zuòwàng 坐忘), and a question-and-answer period. We conclude with a second, closing sitting meditation period. No prior experience necessary. All are welcome.
